Sausages Fried Rice
A Simple Twist: My Experience Making Sausage Fried Rice.
One evening, craving something quick yet satisfying, I found myself experimenting with a classic—fried rice—but with a twist: sausages. What I thought would be just a quick meal turned into a delightful surprise. As I sliced the sausages, their savory smell filled the air, giving a hint of what was to come. Boiling the rice felt like setting the foundation, knowing that each grain would soon soak up the flavors I was about to build.
When the onions, garlic, and ginger hit the hot oil, I could already sense the comfort this dish would bring. The sausages browned beautifully, releasing their rich juices, and when the veggies were added, it felt like everything was coming together in perfect harmony. Scrambling the eggs in the same pan, letting them fold into the mix, gave the dish its final touch of heartiness.
As I took the first bite, I realized this wasn’t just another meal—it was comfort food at its finest. Simple, yet full of flavor, it reminded me how even the most basic ingredients can come together to create something truly satisfying.

kcalIngredients
3 pcs chicken sausages
1 litter water
1tsp+ 2 tbsp oil
1 cup basmati rice
2 tbsp onion chopped
1 tsp garlic paste
1 tsp ginger paste
1 tbsp soya sauce
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/4 cup carrot slices
1 cup capsicum (red+green+yellow) slices
2 pcs green chili slices
1 pcs egg
Salt to taste
Directions
- Step 1:
Take the chicken sausages and slice them thinly. - Step 2:
Rinse the rice thoroughly. In a pan, bring water to a boil, add 1 teaspoon of oil and the rinsed rice. When the rice is 80% cooked, drain the water. Let the boiled rice cool down so that it doesn’t stick together while frying. - Step 3:
Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a frying pan and fry the sausage pieces on medium heat for 2-3 minutes. When the sausages turn light golden, add chopped onions, garlic paste, ginger paste, soy sauce, and black pepper powder. Stir well and cook for about 1 minute. Then, add the sliced carrots, capsicum, and green chilies, and cook for another 1-2 minutes. - Step 4:
Move the vegetables to one side of the pan, and scramble the beaten egg with a pinch of salt. Once scrambled, mix the egg well with the sausages and vegetables.
Then add the half-cooked rice and salt to taste. Stir everything together and fry. Cover the pan with a lid and let it steam for a while so the rice is fully cooked and all the ingredients blend well.
Serve the sausage fried rice hot.

- Vegetables: You can add other vegetables like peas or broccoli to your liking.
- Sausage Variety: Use chicken, beef, or turkey sausages for different flavors as per your preference.
